Along with offering a various program that is suitable for children from 6 months to 12 years old, each day, our staff members spend time nurturing our children’s strengths and encouraging them to reach their full potential.

As our Centre continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced ECE-IT Supervisor to provide high-quality care and guidance for infants and toddlers while supporting and supervising our early childhood education staff. The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment, overseeing daily infant and toddler programming, and ensuring consistent standards of care and education throughout the Centre.

Hourly Wage: $38.50 – $39.50 per hour (Depends on qualification and work experience)

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Working Location: 201-19141 Ford Road, Pitt Meadows, B.C. Canada, V3Y 2P8

Benefits: 4% vacation pay + 5 paid sick days per year + Group Insurance Benefits (Extended Health Care)

Job Duties:

·         Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs for infants and toddlers that support their physical, cognitive, language, emotional, and social development;

·         Supervise, guide, and mentor Early Childhood Educators, Infant/Toddler Educators, and Early Childhood Educator Assistants, including assigning daily responsibilities and monitoring the quality and consistency of care provided;

·         Provide specialized and responsive care to infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, sleeping, toileting, transitions, and other individualized daily routines based on each child’s developmental needs;

·         Observe and document infants’ and toddlers’ development, behaviors, interests, and emerging needs, and use these observations to adjust programming and identify concerns requiring further attention;

·         Oversee the daily operation of the infant and toddler program and ensure staff comply with childcare licensing requirements, staff-to-child ratios, health and safety standards, sanitation procedures, and Centre policies;

·         Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child’s daily routines, developmental progress, health, behavior, and overall well-being, and work collaboratively with families to support consistent care;

·         Provide orientation, training, coaching, and ongoing support to childcare staff on infant and toddler development, responsive caregiving, positive guidance, program delivery, and appropriate health and safety practices.

Qualification:

·         Completion of a two-to four-year college program in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development is required;

·         BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate and Infant and Toddler Educator Certificate is required;

·         As this is a supervisory position, 3 years of previous working experience as an Early Childhood Educator, including experience in leading or mentoring staff, is required;

·         Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential;

·         A working knowledge of English is required to communicate effectively with children, parents or guardians, staff, management, and other professionals.
