Position Summary
We are looking for a Human Resources Specialist to support Hugs Health Services’ workforce by implementing HR policies, recruitment, and retention strategies. You will manage employee relations, training, compensation, and performance programs while analyzing workforce data to optimize staffing operations. Additionally, you will advise management on organizational planning to drive the continued expansion of our services.Position: Human Resources Specialist
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $41.00 – $43.00 per hour (Depending on work experience)
Position Available: 1
Working Hours: 30 hours per week
Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible
Benefits: 4 % vacation pay or 10 business days of paid vacation

Job Duties:
· Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and procedures to support HUGS’s growing homecare, childcare, and healthcare staffing operations.
· Analyze workforce and staffing needs across caregiver, nurse, support worker, and supervisory roles to recommend staffing models for expansion.
· Research and prepare job descriptions, occupational classifications, competency frameworks, and position profiles for healthcare and administrative positions.
· Conduct compensation and wage analysis to recommend competitive salary ranges based on responsibilities, qualifications, market trends, and internal equity.
· Develop and maintain performance evaluation systems to assess employees against required qualifications, skills, and quality standards.
· Advise managers and staff on HR policies, compensation, benefits, workplace procedures, and employment standards.
· Establish workforce planning and employee development initiatives, including career progression, competency training, and succession planning.
· Analyze workforce data, including turnover, staffing levels, and vacancies; and evaluate HR programs to recommend improvements in retention, service quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
· At least 2 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in healthcare or staffing environments.
· Strong knowledge of HR, employment standards, compensation, and performance management, with strong analytical and communication skills.
· Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is considered an asset, but not mandatory.
