Position Title: Cook

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 1

Wage: $20.00 – 21.00 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)

Work Hours: 30 hours per week

Benefit: 10 business days of paid vacation or 4 % vacation pay

Job Duties: 

·          Prepare and cook a variety of meals, dishes, and food items in accordance with restaurant recipes and quality standards;

·          Participate in overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, and maintain food quality standards;

·          Prepare and cook special meals for customers with allergies or dietary restrictions as required;

·          Monitor and maintain inventory and records of food, kitchen equipment, and supplies, and track and order supplies as required;

·          Supervise and coordinate the work schedules of kitchen helpers and other kitchen staff;

·          Participate in recruiting and training new kitchen staff as required.

·          Sanitize, clean and maintain the kitchen and cook’s workstations in compliance with health and safety regulations.

·          Participate in planning new menus, and determining required food and ingredient quantities and related costs

Qualifications:

Completion of secondary school is required;
·         Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR Completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety OR More than 1 + year of work experience in a Commercial Kitchen would be a good asset, but not a mandatory requirement;

·         Ability to work well within a team and in a fast-paced environment;

·         Strong time management skills

·         Working knowledge of English.
