• $37.00 per hour (Overtime will be compensated in accordance with the applicable provisions of the British Columbia Employment Standards Act.)

Job Duties
• Prepare patients for dental examinations and assist the dentist during examinations and dental treatments
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Prepare dental instruments, restorative materials, compounds and other dental materials required for procedures
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and dental sealants
• Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts
• Educate patients regarding proper oral hygiene and preventative dental care
• Maintain accurate patient records and document dental procedures performed
• Perform clerical duties including preparing invoices, processing payments, scheduling patient appointments, and ordering dental and office supplies
• Perform intra-oral duties such as removing sutures, recording vital signs, applying topical anesthetics, desensitizing agents and anticariogenic agents, assisting with temporary crowns and restorations, and applying or removing rubber dams
• Conduct periodontal screening and charting and perform pulp vitality testing when required

Job Requirements
• Completion of an eight-month to one-year college program in dental assisting or completion of secondary school with relevant on-the-job training
• Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examination Board
• Current registration in good standing with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals
• 2 to 3 years of related work experience in a dental clinic setting

Benefits
• Vacation pay of 4% of gross wages in accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act
