We are currently seeking a Kitchen Helper to support our kitchen team with basic ingredient preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and food storage. The successful candidate will assist cooks in keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for daily service.

Position Title: Kitchen Helper

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
Position Available: 1

Wage: $18.25-$19.25 per hour

Work Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay or 10 Business Days of Paid Vacation

Responsibility:

·         Wash, peel, and prepare vegetables, fresh herbs, and other produce used in Vietnamese soups, noodle dishes, and rice dishes, as directed by cooks;

·         Assist cooks with basic ingredient preparation and keep frequently used ingredients and supplies ready at kitchen workstations;

·         Clean and sanitize preparation counters, sinks, cupboards, and kitchen appliances throughout daily service;

·         Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using the dishwasher, and return clean items to their designated storage areas;

·         Unpack food deliveries and place ingredients and supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and other designated storage areas;

·         Collect kitchen waste, empty and clean garbage containers, and maintain clean waste disposal areas;

·         Sweep and mop kitchen floors and assist kitchen staff with routine cleaning and other support tasks.

Qualification:

·         Secondary school education is usually required.;

·         No previous experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided;

·         Ability to communicate in English.
