Northern Motor Inn is a locally established hospitality business in Thornhill (Terrace), British Columbia. We serve tourists, business travellers, workers, and residents of Terrace and surrounding communities. In addition to providing comfortable and affordable accommodation, the Inn operates a restaurant, pub, and liquor store and offers dining, beverage, live entertainment, and event services. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of The Bear Restaurant, ensure high standards of food quality and customer service, supervise and develop staff, coordinate restaurant events and activities, and maintain compliance with applicable health and safety regulations while supporting efficient operations and sustainable business growth.

Position Title: Restaurant Manager
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
Position Available: 1
Wage: $38.50 – $40.00 per hour (Depending on Working Experience and Qualifications)
Work Hours: 30 hours per week
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay or 10 Business Days of Paid Vacation
Responsibility:
· Oversee and manage the daily operations of The Bear Restaurant to ensure efficient service, consistent food quality, and a positive dining experience for customers.
· Develop and implement restaurant operating procedures, service standards, and policies in accordance with the restaurant’s business objectives and service requirements.
· Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate restaurant staff to maintain a professional and customer-oriented team.
· Prepare staff schedules, assign daily duties, and monitor employee performance to ensure adequate staffing and smooth restaurant operations.
· Monitor inventory, sales revenue, food costs, and operating expenses, and implement measures to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
· Address customer inquiries, special requests, and complaints promptly while ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and sanitation regulations.
· Coordinate with food and beverage suppliers to negotiate pricing, maintain product quality, and ensure the timely delivery of ingredients and restaurant supplies.
· Work closely with kitchen and service staff to coordinate food preparation, menu execution, and dining room operations, ensuring consistent service quality.
· Organize restaurant promotions, seasonal menu offerings, group reservations, and special dining events to enhance customer satisfaction and support business growth.
· Review restaurant performance, identify operational improvements, and implement strategies to enhance service standards, customer retention, and overall profitability.
Qualification:
· Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is required.
· At least 3 years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.
· BC Serving It Right and FOODSAFE Level 1 certification (or ability to obtain both prior to commencing employment).
· Ability to communicate effectively in English and work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as operationally required.
