Northern Motor Inn is a locally established hospitality business in Thornhill (Terrace), British Columbia. We serve tourists, business travellers, workers, and residents of Terrace and surrounding communities. In addition to providing comfortable and affordable accommodation, the Inn operates a restaurant, pub, and liquor store and offers dining, beverage, live entertainment, and event services. We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the daily operations of George’s Pub, maintain high service and regulatory standards, coordinate entertainment and events, and support efficient, profitable, and customer-focused operations.

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $38.50 – $40.00 per hour (Depending on Working Experience and Qualifications)
Work Hours: 30 hours per week
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay or 10 Business Days of Paid Vacation
Responsibility:
· Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the daily operations of George’s Pub, including customer service, staffing, financial controls, inventory and regulatory compliance.
· Develop and implement operating procedures, service standards, opening and closing controls, and measures to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
· Recruit, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate bartenders, servers, security and pub-support staff, and address performance and staffing issues.
· Prepare and monitor operating budgets, sales targets, labour costs, beverage costs and other expenses, and implement measures to improve profitability.
· Manage liquor, beverage, food and operating-supply inventory; approve orders, verify deliveries and maintain supplier relationships.
· Oversee point-of-sale controls, cash reconciliation, deposits, refunds, daily sales reporting and loss-prevention procedures.
· Plan and coordinate live entertainment, themed nights, promotions and special events, including event schedules, staffing, performers, suppliers, security and required licensing arrangements.
· Review event attendance, sales, costs and customer feedback and recommend improvements to future entertainment and promotional programs.
· Ensure compliance with liquor-licence conditions, Serving It Right, food-safety, occupational-safety, noise-control and company requirements during regular operations and events.
· Resolve escalated customer complaints, service disruptions and operational incidents, and prepare staffing, inventory, sales, cost and performance reports for senior management.
Qualification:
· Completion of a college diploma or university degree in hospitality management, food and beverage, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant operational experience.
· Minimum three years of progressive experience in licensed hospitality/food-and-beverage operations, including at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
· Proven experience in staff scheduling, inventory control, customer complaint resolution, and basic operational expense monitoring.
· BC Serving It Right and FOODSAFE Level 1 certification (or ability to obtain both prior to commencing employment).
· Ability to communicate effectively in English and work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as operationally required.
