Aera Moon Pharmacy Ltd o/a Shoppers Drug Mart in Vernon, BC is seeking a dedicated, positive, and self-motivated Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, deliver outstanding customer service, and play an important role in supporting the pharmacy’s daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Work Location: 3417 31 Ave, Vernon, BC V1T 2H6

Position: Pharmacist

Wage: $58.00 per hour

Working Hours: 32~35 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 1

Benefits: 6% vacation pay or 3 weeks paid vacation per year

Responsibility:

·       Review and accurately dispense prescription medications.

·       Assess prescriptions for appropriate drug selection, dosage, potential interactions, allergies, and other medication-related concerns.

·       Provide patients with clear information and counselling regarding the proper use, dosage, side effects, and storage of medications.

·       Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and patient care needs.

·       Monitor patients’ medication use and identify potential drug-related problems or opportunities to improve therapy.

·       Administer vaccines and provide other authorized pharmacy-based clinical services as required.

·       Maintain accurate and confidential patient medication records and documentation.

·       Process prescription refills, renewals, and other pharmacy requests in a timely and professional manner.

·       Supervise and support pharmacy assistants and other staff to ensure efficient daily pharmacy operations.

·       Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, provincial regulations, and standards of practice.

·       Maintain proper inventory of prescription drugs and monitor medication storage and expiry dates.

·        Respond to patient inquiries and resolve medication-related concerns while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Job Requirements:

·        A university degree in pharmacy and a period of supervised practical training is required.

·        Registration and licensure as a pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC) are required.

·        A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a pharmacist in Canada or abroad is required.

·        Strong knowledge of prescription medications, drug interactions, dosage, contraindications, and medication therapy is required.

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
