You will play an important role in supporting our clients with their daily living tasks, making sure that they receive the care and assistance necessary for their well-being. Job Title: Medical Aide

Wage: $27.50 – $ 28.50 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)

Working Hours: 30 hours per week (available early morning, daytime, evenings or weekends)

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Temporary

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 1

Benefit: 10 business days of paid vacation or 4% vacation pay

Working Location: #300 – 1111 Melville Street, Vancouver, V6E 3V6

(will be working at client’s locations (various cities in Metro Vancouver area, British Columbia))

 

Job Duties:

· Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills;

· Dedicated to providing high-quality care services to clients and knowledge of practices for community care;

· Provides personal care to patients such as assisting patients with toileting, bathing, skin and hair care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, changing beds, patient positioning and mobilization;

· Lifts, transfers, porters and ambulates residents while maintaining comfort and good body alignment;

· Encourages and assists residents to participate in social and recreational activities by reminding them of programs; assists residents with ambulation to attend recreational program;

· Assists patients with meals by completing menu slips, checking meals to ensure the maintenance of dietary restrictions, serving and collecting meal trays and feeding designated patients;

· Reports observed changes in resident activity level, behavior, or physical well-being to the Nurse, may carry messages to different departments;

· Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers within established policies and procedures;

· Ensures proper care and identification of resident’s personal effects, including clothing Follow Care Plans and maintain accurate client records utilizing the appropriate documentation such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, fluid intake and output, and monitor patient condition;

· Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant facility policies and procedures, including an understanding of the Fire Safety/Disaster Plan and ensures the safety of staff and residents;

· Maintains inventory of supplies, clean equipment when needed, and performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

· A personal support worker, nursing aide or health care aide college or private institutional program or a college nursing orderly program and supervised practical training are required;
· Minimum of 1 year of related work experience is required;
·Valid Registry Number with BC Care Aide Registry is required;

· Criminal Record Check is required;

· First aid certification and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an asset but not mandatory;

· Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.
