Currently, we are looking to hire a Floor Covering Supervisor who will oversee and coordinate floor covering installation projects, supervise installation crews, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality.

Job Title: Floor Covering Supervisor

Wage: $38.50 to $39.50 per hour (Depending on working experience)

Working Hours: 30 hours per week (Available early morning, daytime, evenings or weekends)

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 1

Benefit: 4% Vacation Pay or 10 Business Days of Paid Vacation

Working Location: 

●       1233 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC, Canada V5V 3E2 (Our Business Location)

●       Will be working at various residential / commercial locations (client’s locations) within Metro Vancouver area, British Columbia

Responsibilities:

●       Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of floor covering installers engaged in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of carpet, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, tile, and other floor covering materials in residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

●       Plan and coordinate installation schedules, assign tasks to crew members, and collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time.

●       Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, building codes, and company policies.

●       Resolve work-related issues and recommend measures to improve productivity, efficiency, and workmanship.

●       Requisition and maintain adequate inventories of flooring materials, adhesives, tools, equipment, and supplies.

●       Train and mentor floor covering installers and apprentices in job duties, installation techniques, workplace safety procedures, and company standards.

●       Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations by conducting site inspections and promoting safe work practices.

●       Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary measures.

●       Prepare work progress reports, maintain installation records, and communicate project updates to management and clients.

●       May oversee the daily operations of the flooring installation division or manage the operations of the company, as required.

Qualifications:

●       Completion of secondary school is required;

●       Minimum 4 years of related experience in the trade or in the work area supervised is required;

●       Available early morning, daytime, evenings or weekends;

●       A driver’s license would be a good asset but not a mandatory requirement;

●       Working knowledge of English.
