Concrete Finisher

We are seeking an experienced full-time Concrete Finisher who takes pride in producing high-quality concrete work and can contribute to the successful completion of residential and commercial projects.

Job Position: Concrete Finisher

Term of Employment: Full-time, Permanent   

Hourly Wage: $37.50 – $39.50 per hour (depending on qualification and work experience)

Working Hours: 30-40 hours per week (available early morning, evening or weekends)

Work Location:

·         3295 Renfrew Street, Vancouver, British Columbia V5M 3L2 (our business location);

·         Will be working at various residential / commercial locations (clients’ locations) within Metro Vancouver area, British Columbia

Start Date of Employment: As soon as possible

Benefits: 10 Business Days Paid Vacation or 4 % Vacation Pay 

Job Duties:

·         Inspect formwork, base preparation, and reinforcing steel to ensure proper conditions before concrete placement.

·         Place, spread, level, and finish concrete surfaces according to drawings, specifications, and grade requirements.

·         Operate power vibrators, screeds, and other finishing tools and equipment to compact and finish freshly poured concrete.

·         Perform finishing work including floating, troweling, edging, and texturing to achieve required surface quality and appearance.

·         Install embedded items such as anchor bolts, steel plates, expansion joints, and other components in fresh concrete.

·         Apply curing, sealing, waterproofing, and protective compounds to concrete surfaces.

·         Repair, resurface, and restore damaged or worn concrete structures such as floors, sidewalks, walls, and driveways.

·         Provide on-site guidance and support to apprentices, labourers, including contract workers to ensure work is completed safely and to required standards.

·         Communicate with senior staff or site supervisors regarding work progress, site conditions, and material requirements.

Qualification: 

·         Completion of secondary school is required;

·         At least 3 years of experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a related concrete filed is required, where candidate gain experience in placing, leveling, finishing, and curing concrete surfaces;

·         Available to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required;

·         A valid driver’s license is an asset but not mandatory;

·         Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions;

·         Working knowledge of English.
