Since its establishment, Gibsons Pho Le Ltd. has been dedicated to providing our customers with delicious and healthy Vietnamese food in the Gibsons area. As the first authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the community, we offer traditional PHO bowls, rice dishes, and specialty appetizers like spring rolls and wonton soup. We prepare our entire menu in-store using fresh ingredients, flavorful herbs, and authentic spices. We are currently seeking a passionate, full-time Cook with an interest in Vietnamese cuisine to join our team.

Work location: 900 Gibsons Way #8, Gibsons, BC V0N 1V8

Position Title: Cook

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible

Positions Available: 1

Wage: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour (Depending on working experience)

Work Hours: 30 – 40 hours per week

Benefit: 4% vacation pay or 10 days paid vacation per year, and Tips

Responsibility:

 Prepare and cook complete Vietnamese dishes, including pho, rice dishes, grilled meats, and appetizers such as spring rolls and wonton soup;

Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring food items according to recipes and restaurant standards;
Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation in all dishes;
Maintain inventory and records of food supplies, and assist with ordering ingredients as needed;
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all sanitation and food safety standards are followed;
Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health regulations;
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service;
Assist in training new kitchen staff in food preparation and kitchen procedures;
 

Qualification:

Completion of secondary school is required;

Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR, completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety, OR at least 1 year of commercial cooking experience is required.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment;

Ability to communicate in English and work well within a team.
