Dana Townsend is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The candidate should be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of performing a variety of carpentry duties while adhering to workplace safety standards and project timelines.

Position: Carpenter

Wage: $30.00 per hour

Working Hours: 30 ~ 35 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 1

Benefits: 4% vacation pay or 10 days of paid vacation per year

Responsibilities:

•        Interpret architectural blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to accurately determine scope, dimensions, and material requirements

•        Develop precise layouts in full compliance with applicable building codes and safety regulations using advanced measuring and leveling instruments

•        Execute detailed measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembly of various materials including hardwood, engineered wood products, and light-gauge steel components

•        Construct and install structural frameworks, including foundations, floor systems, wall assemblies, and roofing structures with a focus on durability and precision

•        Install and finish interior and exterior trim elements such as doors, stair systems, mouldings, and hardware to high-quality standards

•        Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and full-scale renovations of residential and commercial wooden structures across diverse environments including industrial facilities and institutional buildings

•        Lead, train, and oversee apprentices and construction personnel to ensure productivity, quality workmanship, and adherence to safety standards

•        Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, and project timelines, while effectively communicating with clients

Job Requirements:

·       Completion of secondary school is usually required.

·       At least 3 years of work experience as a carpenter are required.

·       Red Seal endorsement is also available to qualified carpenters upon successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination.
