We’re Vernon’s only board game café—a welcoming space where guests can enjoy great food, quality drinks, and a curated library of board and card games to play during their visit. We serve coffee, tea, snacks, pastries, and sandwiches, all with friendly, attentive service to make every visit a great experience. As we are getting busier, we’re looking for a Food Service Supervisor to join our team!

Position Title: Food Service Supervisor
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
Position Available: 1
Wage: $36.60 – $37.60 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)
Working Hours: 30 hours per week
Benefit: 10 business days of paid vacation or 4 % vacation pay

Job Duties:
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of café staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations;
• Schedule staff shifts, monitor attendance, and assist in training new employees in customer service standards, food safety, and café procedures;
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service in a fast-paced café environment;
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders for food supplies and café merchandise, and ensure proper storage and rotation of products;
• Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally to maintain a welcoming and community-focused atmosphere;
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including local health authority requirements;
• Assist management with daily cash handling, point-of-sale operations, and basic record keeping as required;
• Coordinate with kitchen and front staff to ensure timely preparation and service of food and beverages;
• Assist with food preparation, beverage service, or customer orders during busy periods as needed.

Qualifications:
• Completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related discipline or several years of experience in food preparation or service are required;
• Completion of secondary school is usually required;
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills;
• Working knowledge of English.
