Position Summary:
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for all personnel, including full-time, part-time, and contract staff, ensuring accurate processing of salaries, benefits, deductions, and statutory remittances. This role also involves maintaining precise records, preparing payroll-related reports, and ensuring compliance with Canadian labor and tax regulations.
Position: Payroll Administrator
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $36.60 – $37.60 per hour (Depending on working experience)
Position Available: 1
Working Hours: 30 hours per week
Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible
Benefits: 4 % vacation pay or 10 business days of paid vacation

Job Duties:
• Maintain and update comprehensive records for all personnel, including full-time, part-time, and contract workers, covering attendance, leave, hours worked, and payment entitlements.
• Calculate and process all payments, including salaries, contractor fees, bonuses, vacation pay, and benefit entitlements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian payroll regulations.
• Prepare and verify payroll statements for employees and contractors, showing gross and net pay, deductions, and statutory withholdings.
• Administer benefits and other entitlements for all personnel, including pension plans, medical insurance, leaves, and other programs.
• Compile, review, and reconcile payroll and contractor accounts and reports, ensuring consistency with bank statements and resolving any discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll-related filings and reports for statutory compliance, including year-end tax statements, employment records, and pension contributions.
• Provide guidance to personnel on payroll, benefits, and related policies, ensuring accurate understanding of entitlements.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and improvement of payroll and contractor payment policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school is usually required;
• Completion of college or other courses in accounting, bookkeeping or payroll administration or experience in payroll administration is usually required;
• Payroll association certification is an asset but not mandatory;
• Experience using a payroll system or software is an asset but not mandatory;
• Detail oriented and excellent organization skills;
• Working knowledge of English.
